Ditarik lebih jauh dari sejarahnya, penamaan Paseban Sena sendiri tak lepas dari makna unik di dalamnya. “Paseban” yang berarti tempat berkumpul orang-orang di masa kerajaan kerajaan besar, sementara nama “Sena” diambil dari salah satu tokoh pewayangan dalam cerita jawa yang memiliki sifat gagah berani, teguh, kuat, tabah, patuh, dan jujur, serta menganggap semua orang sama derajatnya.

Pada masa penjajahan kolonial Belanda seluruh bangunan di sepanjang Jl. Suroyo (termasuk : Paseban Sena) sebenarnya bukan peninggalan Belanda melainkan peninggalan masa kepemimpinan Kapiten Han Tik Ho.

Sebelum menjadi bangunan megah kelas atas seperti sekarang, Pada tahun 1920, dahulunya tempat ini merupakan sebuah asrama dari personil TNI.

Pembangunan Paseban Sena sendiri yang tergolong mewah dan serba modern ini ternyata di sejumlah sudutnya masih mempertahankan design dan arsitektur dari bangunan lama.

Bangunan yang didirikan Bpk Ir H. Budiarso dan Ibu Hj. Nunung Qudratillah, sekaligus pemilik toko Nawawi, pada tahun 2013 ini, memiliki lokasi yang sangat strategis, terletak pada pusat Kota Probolinggo dan berada sekitar 100 m dari Alun-Alun Kota Probolinggo dan Stasiun Kota Probolinggo. Di jalan yang sama, bangunan ini juga berdekatan dengan berbagai objek tarik wisata lainnya, seperti Gereja Merah dan Museum Probolinggo.

Text description provided by the architects. The project is a large-scale installation made for a music festival held in a public park, aimed at raising awareness of the pollution of the oceans by disposable plastics.

The pavilion presents the accumulated plastic and waste in its actual discarded state, just as it is found floating on the sea, like a veritable island. We had no interest in attractively presenting the garbage, preferring to make an impact by showing it in its raw condition.

The Project is the result of combining the needs of a luxury hotel, thus covering the demand for accommodation on the beach of Punta Bolívar, municipality of San Antero, near Montería and Medellín; added to the conditions of the terrain in a plot of 8,885 m2, a beachfront of 63 meters and a length of 137 meters, with native vegetation. Therefore, the project is developed in strips that as they are further into the sea, the buildings rise above stilts, avoiding possible flooding due to climate change and benefiting from the view of the cabins that are in the first line of the sea. The project begins with a breakwater that allows a view of the Gulf of Morrosquillo, then in the first line is located the pool area and the bar, in the second line there are three family cabins and a service cabin with a restaurant, in the third line there is another cabin with suites and 8 bungalows that exceed a height of 10 meters, to have a view of the cabins in the second line, with the stilts below which the gardens are structured, connected to a dense jungle that comes from the back side, for the enjoyment and relaxation of visitors; finally, the service line is generated, within which there is a spa, offices, a children's playroom, a gym, parking lots, and technical areas. It is worth noting that all the water in the complex is taken from the sea and becomes potable to not impact the aquifers of the sector. The hotel was developed hand in hand with interior designers and the premises were to generate employment for the nearby community with no income, local artisans from the area were used in every detail of the hotel to highlight that, within luxury, local art is the protagonist. All materials were sourced from the area to reduce environmental impact, and gardens were implemented to create the transition between the beach, the built environment, and the dense jungle.

Text description provided by the architects. The 13th China International Garden Expo Park is located in the famous historical and cultural city of Xuzhou. The park is surrounded by hills, creating a picturesque landscape. The Dangkou Hotel, as one of the significant supporting facilities for this garden expo, is situated on the southwestern slope of the park. To the north lies the main scenic area of the garden expo and the Hanging Water Lake, providing a broad and open view.
